We have news, and a little ask for y'all. The Web3 grant-giving platform Gitcoin has approved 0x Salon to participate in their first Community and Education funding round. The platform operates via a matched funding model (Quadratic Fundingundefined), so that many small donations from community members can be amplified into what we hope are meaningful amounts of resources to help us continue to operate the Salon's core activities.
The Gitcoin funding round is open for a fortnight, and we would very much appreciate your help in spreading the word (feel free to pass this page’s URL around, or signal boost our Twitter / Instagram posts!), or perhaps even make a donation if you are in a position to do so! Small amounts per donation (<€50) are encouraged, notwithstanding gas fees on the Ethereum network (~ca €5/tx in the European mornings as of today), and checking out with Fantom or Optimism is also possible. 0x Salon is a collective endeavour which critically interrogates digital culture — including that of the blockchain community — through discourse events and residencies, producing scholarly and creative interventions in the process. Since 2020, we have been hosting salons — intimate post-disciplinary discussions — on a range of conversation topics. We are conducting an ongoing, non-profit experiment in knowledge sharing and collective cultural production. Stewarded by 0x Salon team members, our community researches topics, organises events, and produces lore, critical theory, poetry, philosophy, games, theatre, and visual art.
